Welcome to our Reddam House Durbanville College and brand new college campus at Clara Anna Fontein. We believe true excellence in education is only achieved by a powerful, passionate team of exceptional teachers and managers preparing young, happy and motivated students to stand tall and make their mark anywhere in the world as the global citizens of tomorrow. Our teaching staff, curriculum options and top class facilities provide all the tools our students need for a successful school career and bright future.
From 2018, starting with Grade 10, our students can also follow the Independent Examinations Board (IEB) curriculum – offering a diverse, stimulating subject choice.
The College at Reddam House Durbanville will provide students with a dual curriculum; the very best in international education in the Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) and the top South African Independent Examinations Board (IEB) schools’ curriculum. We recognise our obligation to offer our students reputable, international and local curricula which our parents can trust. Furthermore, we know that the CIE and IEB prepare students well for university and life.
In recognising this, Reddam House has, since its opening in Constantia in 2000, enjoyed a close relationship with the Independent Examination Board (IEB) - see www.ieb.co.za - in South Africa. Year after year, Reddam House matriculants top the charts of academic excellence when IEB results are announced and our schools are well known and held in high regard for the delivery of this quality education. Much like the CIE curriculum, the IEB is an internationally benchmarked qualification and is equivalent to the CIE AS Levels.
The sound reason for the dual curriculum offering at Reddam House Durbanville is to allow our students the opportunity of choice between the two well-respected and quality options - a “win-win” choice.
The Cambridge International Examinations curriculum prepares students to sit the international examinations administered by Cambridge University Education faculty. The CIE is an examination board that operates under the auspices of Cambridge Assessment which was founded in 1858 as a department of the University of Cambridge. Cambridge qualifications include international A-level, AS-level, O-level and IGCSE. Examinations are open to students internationally at registered CIE centres.
CIE is the largest provider of international secondary (aged 14 to18 years) examinations in the world. Cambridge International Examinations operates in 160 countries including the UK and Europe, South Asia, the Middle East, Asia Pacific, North America, Central and South America and Africa. In some countries such as Singapore, Cambridge examinations are the state qualification for students in secondary school.
In South Africa, CIE works closely with our local Matriculation Board because CIE students not only qualify for matriculation exemption but also regularly gain entry into some of the toughest selection courses at university.
